I’m Ceri-anne, an engineering manager leading mobile teams, and an iOS engineer by background.

I spent 14 years in credit risk before deciding to change career. I taught myself to code, went through Sky’s Get into Tech programme, and started my first engineering role in November 2016. I worked as an iOS engineer, mostly in Swift, before moving into engineering management.

In my spare time I build small iOS apps. Some of them are about maths, because I enjoy it.

How I lead

I expect a lot from my teams, and I think that only works when people feel safe to be honest: to say “I don’t know”, to push back on a plan, or to flag a problem early. So I try to be calm and approachable, and to build trust before I need it. I care about teams that collaborate rather than compete, and about people growing, not just shipping.
